Paul's Edited Slipstream Version

Not suggested for OEM Machines unless your use DrverMax to backup your drivers first & get a Xp factory Cd.

Also you can Slipstream a XP service pack 1 Cd up to Sp2 and then sp3 before your final burn of  it,  the same way before you do XP service pack 3 Slipstream integrated Cd as in basic steps below.

The Basic Steps to Merging SP3 into the XP Setup CD Below

Create a temporary folder "YourXPcd" at the top level of drive C:/YourXPcd, in the root, then Copy your XP Setup Disk w/ Sp1 or/and 2 on it to the directory you just created.

Download and Save XP Service Pack 3 and save it as filename "XPSP3.exe" NOT in a Folder, Just in the Root Directory of C: Drive

Download the file wxp10.zip from http://www.nu2.nu/download.php?sFile=wxp10.zip and save it somewhere on your computer. Extract it,  then open it and find the Home or Pro folder of the unziped file, find the file w2ksect.bin , Drag the "w2ksect.bin" file into C:\ (the root directory of drive C:).

so it looks like this below

C:/

YourXPcd   - Folder, containing a xp cd files from your cd with only sp1 & sp2 on it.

XPSP3.exe  - File

w2ksect.bin - File

XPSP2.exe - Only if your doing Sp2 first before Sp3 integrate

  1. Open the Black Command Prompt Window, type cd\, hit enter, you should be starting with a fresh new Line, Type  XPSP3 /integrate:C:\YourXPcd  on that line, hit enter, ( sit back it takes a while ) Note that there is only one space character -- between the "C:\XPSP3" and the rest of the line.

  2.  Note : it should look like  C:>XPSP3 /integrate:C:\YourXPcd  before you hit enter.

When the Slipstreamed of Sp3 in to the YourXPcd Folder the Tranfer is Completed, You will Notice that now there is a ( NEW winsp3 Extra file ) in the YourXPcd folder Now. .............( Then close the Command Prompt Window) ............ then go to next part below.

  1. Then   Open Notepad, copy the text from box below - ezackly as it is - Save the notepad file as ""   in brackets so that notepad does not include the .txt extention on it. check it after saving it. make sure the file you just saved on the C: drive looks like xpsp.ibb and not spsp.ibb.txt, fix it if it's wrong before going forward to the next step.

Then  Download ImgBurn   - The version of ImgBurn,  I used to create this guide was 2.4.4.0.

  1. Burning the CD - Put a blank CD or DVD into your drive.

Open up the installed program of  ImgBurn on your computer. Then open from the front screen Select ( Write Files/Folders to disc ) , then from the Top Bar,  Select "Mode' then select "Build" from the menu.

Then, select "File' from the top Bar, select  "Load Project". use the xpsp.ibb  located in the top of the C: drive you saved in the last previous step , select it and click the "Open" button. then it will close.

In the Destination Window, Make sure in the little window it's pointing to as has your Burner Drive for the Burn Destination

At the Bottom, click the "Build" icon at bottom

If ImgBurn presents you with a dialog box giving you the statistics of your new CD, such as the number of  files it will contain and so forth, just click OK to accept it. sit back and wait and when it done.

Test it by making sure in your bios - the boot menu is your cd/ burner drive is the first boot drive, then save your bios setting.

Restart your computer, it will come up and say ( boot from cd............... ) choice, That will tell you if your cd is now make correctly,,, Do Not hit any key during the startp, or it will start to install your new XP Cd you just made,, choose your time for the install after you back up your personal stuff, or back up your computer, before you start with the install cd you just made...

Congratulations. You have successfully created a new XP setup CD with service pack 3 on it. This setup disk will allow you to install Windows XP with Service Pack 3 already integrated in it on your next install on your computer.
